Loan Value Ratio (LVR)

Typically when talking about borrowing money from a bank you will hear the term Loan Value Ratio (LVR) used, which refers to the amount you are wanting to borrow against the value of the property.

For example, if I were to purchase a property valued at $800,000 and I had a 10% deposit of $80,000 then I would need to borrow $720,000. Which means that I need to borrow 90% (the LVR) of the value of the property from the bank.
